Two experts from the University were the first foreign nationals to receive their working permits in Heilongjiang Province. The working permits were awarded by the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Services on June 5 in the Municipal Citizen's Hall.
13 foreign experts from 7 institutions in Harbin have received their official work cards. Among those 13 experts, 6 fall under Category A as high-end professionals and two of those six top-notch specialists are our two school teachers, Joseph and Manuel.
Manuel is our German language teacher, with a strong literature background. Likewise, Joseph is our Shakespeare scholar with his doctorate in linguistics. For many years, both teachers have been teaching on our campus.
Under the newly enforced regulations, foreign nationals working in China fall under three categories: Category A are high-end professionals while other professionals are issued with a Category B working permit; Category C applies to ordinary personnel working in China. And since May 1, 2017, such regulations have been in force in our province.
